American Traveler is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) for an inpatient rehab position requiring BLS and MA state licensure, with adult and geriatric caseload.

Details

• Work in a community hospital inpatient rehab unit with a daily census of 15 adult and geriatric patients
• Patient population includes individuals with stroke and infectious respiratory diseases
• Schedule consists of 5x8 day shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Every other weekend coverage required from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday
• Call responsibilities are required
• Documentation completed using Meditech Expanse; Pyxis used for medication systems

Requirements

• Active MA State License required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• CCC-SLP and MBSImP certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
• Experience with an adult patient ratio of 1:15
• Previous charge experience required
• Experience in acute care and adult outpatient settings required
• Community hospital experience required
• Experience managing dysphagia, including bedside swallow evaluation, diet modification, and thickening agents

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, concurrent therapy documentation and treatment, evaluation, reassessments, and developing plans of care
• Requires management of adult dysphagia, including bedside swallow evaluations and use of international dysphagia diets
• Awareness of signs and symptoms of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse necessary for patient safety
• Support available from interpretation services, respiratory services, and unit secretary
• Point of service documentation is expected
