American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN House Supervisor with prior charge experience and a NY RN license for a skilled nursing facility assignment.

Details

• Work as House Supervisor in a skilled nursing facility caring for 180 residents across 5 units
• Patient population includes residents with dementia, orthopedic, cardiac, neurobehavioral, and long-term care needs
• Handles patient flow and acts as a facility-wide resource during off-shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Shifts include three 8-hour shifts and one 12-hour shift per week, scheduled between 3p-11p, 11p-7a, and 7p-7a
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Epic EMR is used; experience is preferred
• Specialized equipment includes wound vacs, PICC lines, nephrostomy tubes, tube feeds, and colostomies

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, with at least 2 years and previous charge experience in a similar setting strongly preferred
• BLS certification required
• Experience in skilled nursing facility environments
• Strong skills in code management, de-escalation, emergency preparedness, and regulatory knowledge
• Experience supervising care across multiple units and patient types
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Role includes mentoring staff, solving clinical issues, facilitating admissions, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
• Manage new admissions, staffing, productivity, and coaching for performance standards
• Duties include documentation and processes for patient death, incident reporting, and infection control
• Must be comfortable with high-acuity and behavioral patients, including managing assaultive behaviors
• Any color scrubs are acceptable
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role
• Holiday coverage may be required as part of off-shift supervision
• Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts called off per 13-week contract
