American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring an active MI license, Epic proficiency, and night shift availability.

Details

• Work in a hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit with 17 beds
• Care for neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Handles approximately 200–300 births per month
• Includes antepartum, LDRP, mother/baby, and Level I nursery settings
• Uses Pyxis medication system and Epic EMR (experience required)
• Night shifts are 3x12 hours (18:45–07:15), with every other weekend required
• Must be able to float to triage, mother/baby, and special care nursery as per AWHONN guidelines

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• Minimum of 2 years’ recent Labor and Delivery experience
• Experience with Epic required
• Must be proficient in high-risk deliveries, C-section scrub/circulate, postpartum and newborn care, and specialized nursery procedures
• Competence in cardiac monitoring, rapid response, and medication administration including magnesium sulfate and antihypertensives
• Experience with external fetal monitoring, assessment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, and neonatal stabilization required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include antepartum triage, fetal monitoring, labor management, circulating for C-sections, and postpartum care
• Special care nursery requires stabilization and preparation for transfer if needed
• Support resources include pharmacy, respiratory, interpretation services, RRT, and more
• Green scrubs are provided for staff
• Seven days of RTO allowed, excluding holidays
• Holiday coverage may be required as per departmental needs
