Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Orthopedics unit position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and orthopedic/trauma background.

Details

• Hospital orthopedic unit setting specializing in pre-op and post-op orthopedic care
• Patient population includes elective and trauma patients undergoing total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs, as well as orthopedic trauma cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, with possible stretch to 1:7
• Procedures and equipment include use of CPM machines, knee immobilizers, bone foam, and other orthopedic and safe patient handling equipment
• Rapid Response Teams are utilized on this unit
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Orthopedic and trauma nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• A valid driver's license is required for consideration
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance; two attempts are allowed — candidates are encouraged to prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
