American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Direct Observation Unit (Telemetry) night shift position requiring Epic EMR proficiency and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Details

• Medical Observation unit (T6) in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per day
• Epic EMR used; experience required

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend fluent English
• Basic computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheet, email, web browser)

Additional Information

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and develops, implements, and continuously updates individualized care plans
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation to support the broader healthcare team
• Responsible for IV site assessment every 4 hours and initiating new IVs per facility policy
• Documentation standards are evaluated through quarterly chart audits
• Expected to attend the majority of staff meetings (5 out of 6 per year)
• Identifies and responds appropriately to changes in patient status
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days for the duration of the 13-week contract
• Travelers who have been on continuous assignment at this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
