American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring prior travel experience, Epic proficiency, and a minimum of 5 years of Med/Surg Tele experience or 3 years of telemetry experience.

Details

• Acute Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• 12-hour night shifts, scheduled Monday through Sunday
• Minimum every other weekend required; schedule may be adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
• Block schedules are not available for any reason
• Telemetry strip interpretation performed at the bedside
• NG tube and peripheral IV insertion performed at bedside
• Epic EMR used; recent experience is required
• 16-week assignment with potential extension up to 32 weeks
• Bi-weekly orientations held on Mondays

Requirements

• Active RN license — VT or Compact license required; candidates without VT licensure will be considered, and NY candidates with proof of pending NY licensure will be reviewed
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — NIHSS must be completed prior to start date
• Telemetry certification preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of Med/Surg Tele experience OR 3 years of telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must have completed 2 travel assignments at 300+ bed facilities OR have previous experience at any UVMHN acute care facility
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required — non-negotiable
• At least two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required — one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required — public transportation is not accessible in this area

• This is an Interview-to-Offer (IVS) position — no formal interview required before an offer is extended
• Candidates located within 50 miles of the facility (straight-line distance) are considered local; candidates 51–100 miles away are eligible for a standard travel rate
• All employment gaps of more than 90 days must be explained
• Complete work history including bed count, EMR used, and facility type is required
• Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
