American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Medical ICU (MICU) of a 49-bed short-term acute care hospital designated as a Level IV Trauma Center
• Patient population includes those with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, cardiovascular, renal, respiratory, and endocrine/metabolic conditions
• ICU patient ratio is 1:2; step-down ratio is 1:3
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 6 weekend shifts required per schedule period
• Floating between sister facilities within the state is expected; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Epic EMR experience is required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS; PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of MICU experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Proficiency in advanced ICU skills including ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers and those with 1 year of experience are welcome to apply
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Parking is free in any unrestricted space
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
