American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a SICU night shift position in Birmingham, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and an AL or compact RN license.

Details

• Position is in a 12-bed Surgical/Medical/Neuro ICU (SICU) within an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes neuro and intensive care patients
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity
• Common ICU equipment includes ventilators, arterial lines, and central venous lines (CVLs)
• EMR is Cerner
• Night shift: 18:30–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license, in hand at time of consideration — license must not be expired or expiring in the same month as the start date
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required — AHA-issued only; American Red Cross is not accepted
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required — AHA-issued only
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Neuro ICU experience preferred
• RN license must have no adverse actions or hits
• Certifications must not be expired or expiring within 30 days of the start date

Additional Information

• Provide intensive care nursing to surgical, medical, and neuro ICU patients
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
• SSN and DOB will be required as part of the consideration process
• Navy scrubs are mandatory
