American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring a Nebraska or compact RN license and cardiovascular OR experience, with call rotation responsibilities.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room at an acute care hospital setting, specifically the cardiovascular OR (CVOR)
• Patient population includes cardio-thoracic surgical patients with conditions such as acute cardiovascular disease, acute respiratory failure, multi-system failure, acute neurological injury, and acute renal failure
• Procedures include coronary bypass and valve procedures
• Shift is 8 hours, 0700–1530, with a weekday, weekend, and holiday call rotation
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license from Nebraska or an approved compact state of residence, currently in hand
• Current BLS (CPR) certification required
• Prior CVOR or cardiovascular OR nursing experience required
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication administration
• Experience with intraoperative cardio-thoracic care, including ACLS application and dysrhythmia assessment
• Two current professional references required for consideration: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the same specialty within the last 3 years
• Copies of certifications and verification of licensure required for consideration
• Ability to perform medium-duty physical work, including exerting 20–50 lbs of force occasionally and up to 25 lbs frequently

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include perioperative assessment and reassessment, interdisciplinary care planning, and intraoperative nursing interventions for cardio-thoracic surgical patients
• Coordinates care with ICU, PSCU/PACU, Anesthesia, and Perfusion personnel
• Supervises support staff in the delivery of patient care in accordance with Nebraska Statute 38
• Holiday call rotation coverage is required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
