American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring at least 1 year of CVOR experience, BLS certification, and a FL or compact RN license, with on-call responsibilities and every-other-weekend coverage.

Details

• CVOR unit within a hospital setting featuring 2 cardiovascular ORs
• Cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases performed, including CABG, AAA repair, Fem-Pop bypass, and mitral/aortic valve replacement
• Patient caseload of approximately 1–4 cases per day
• Unit staffed with a mix of RNs and scrub techs
• Standard OR equipment in use
• Meditech EMR for documentation
• Day shift: 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with on-call duties on weekdays and weekends
• Every other weekend required
• Floating is uncommon; when needed, travelers may support the cath lab or main OR
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS required; ACLS preferred (AHA or ARC accepted — certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR experience required
• Strong proficiency in cardiac (CV/PV), AAA repair, CABG, Fem-Pop bypass, and mitral/aortic valve replacement
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• Two professional references required (Florida requirement)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• The team performs cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases in a certified STS Isolated CABG 2-star program
• The hospital is a Level II trauma center and holds recognition including the Get With The Guidelines – Gold Plus Stroke Achievement Award and Top Performer on Quality Measures by The Joint Commission
• Ceiling blue scrubs are provided by the facility
• Holiday coverage is required on a rotational basis with hospital staff
• The unit is known for experienced surgeons, fast case times, fast turnovers, and minimal callbacks
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but prior CVOR experience is required
