American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Telemetry (Night Shift) position at a nationally recognized hospital in Reno, NV, requiring at least 2 years of telemetry experience and an active NV RN license.

Details

• Medical and Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, COVID, and post-procedure patients (pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and OHS patients downgraded from ICU)
• Non-titratable cardiac medication drips administered (e.g., Cardizem, Lasix, Nitroglycerin)
• Floating may be required to ICUs (for telemetry/medically appropriate assignments), med/surg units, and a sister facility
• Nights shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• No on-call requirements outside of scheduled shifts
• Epic EMR used; Epic training provided during orientation or candidates may test out
• KRONOS used for time keeping
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start (RNs who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may still apply but must begin the application process immediately upon offer)
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identifying and measuring rhythm strips — failure of the exam will result in contract termination
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

• Responsibilities include comprehensive nursing care utilizing the nursing process — assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation — for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families
• Care is provided in a collaborative, multidisciplinary, patient-centered environment with a focus on clinical excellence and exceptional customer service
• The hospital is a fast-paced, high-volume facility serving a 500-mile radius, operating at the pace of a Level I Trauma Center (Level II designation)
• Travelers may be required to cover a minimum of 2 major holidays during the contract
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must take a 13-week break after their last contract ends before returning
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration — the facility does not extend contracts to compensate for RTO
