American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract at a Primary Stroke & STEMI Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent ED experience and both KS and MO (or compact) RN licenses.

• General Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric population
• Non-trauma facility designated as a Primary Stroke and STEMI Center
• Occasional OB patients may require management of mother/baby care until transfer
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period (any combination of Friday, Saturday, or Sunday)
• Floating may be required between the ED Hold area, other departments, units, and facilities as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active RN license for both Kansas and Missouri (or a compact license) must be in hand at time of consideration; floating between facilities requires licensure in both states
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience required, including at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
• Preferred certifications: CPI and MAB
• Required clinical skills: cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP management, ventilated patient care, isolation precautions, and triage
• Preferred clinical skills: experience in a STEMI or Stroke Certified facility, dysrhythmia interpretation, arterial line management, and ABG interpretation
• 2 professional references required: one must be supervisor-level or above, the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year
• Candidate must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

• Holiday shift coverage is required as needed
• RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract
• Orientation modules are required as part of compliance and are typically completed prior to the start date
• A drug screen is required; a diluted or positive result that cannot be cleared will result in cancellation, and the candidate must wait 6 months before reapplying
