American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position specializing in rehab and neurological patient care, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Specialized care for patients with rehabilitation needs including CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility (post-stroke, aneurysm, post-op surgical)
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
• Float required between all health system campuses as needed
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory
• Acute care rehab experience preferred

Requirements

• Active NC RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Skills required include: interpretation of laboratory results, medication reconciliation, patient health questionnaire/history/allergies, vital signs (BP, respirations, temperature, pulse), dressing changes, aseptic/sterile procedure tray setup, specimen collection (capillary, throat, urine/UA clean catch, phlebotomy), labeling of specimens, telephone triage, and pharmacy/patient refill request coordination
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance, regardless of specialty; two attempts are allowed — candidates should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• 13-week contract
