American Traveler is hiring a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) Surgical Tech for a 13-week travel contract at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Indiana, requiring NBSTSA certification and experience with advanced cardiac and vascular procedures.

Details

• Position is based in a hospital CVOR unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Schedule is 4x10-hour shifts, 11:00–21:30
• Call requirement of 90–120 hours per 6-week schedule
• Extensive cardiovascular and vascular case mix including CABG, TAVR, TEVAR, EVAR, AAA repair, mitral/valve replacement, VAD, heart and lung transplant, carotid endarterectomy, atherectomy, robotic-assisted cardiac surgery, laparoscopic cardiac surgery, aortic dissection, and more
• Responsibilities include receiving pump lines from perfusion and preparing them for cannulation
• Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
• Travelers may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS (AHA or RQI accepted) and NBSTSA certification required
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of CVOR surgical tech experience required
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
• Experience with vascular and thoracic surgery cases required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited institution required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have Level 1 Trauma Center experience
• Local candidates are accepted for this Periop/Surgical Services position
• Former permanent or PRN employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or fewer may be auto-approved
• IN RN licensure note: Periop/OR positions (including CVOR) are exempt from the health system's general IN RN restriction — IN-licensed travelers are permitted for this role
