American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an Emergency Department position in the Cincinnati market, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and at least 1 year of travel nursing experience.

Details

• 18-bed Emergency Department unit in an urban hospital setting
• Patient population is urban with a low socioeconomic status demographic, spanning all age groups from neonates through adults
• Nurses are responsible for administering breathing treatments as no respiratory therapy is on-site; physicians perform intubation and RNs assist in setting up transport ventilators
• ACLS drips administered as needed
• Alaris IV pumps used for infusion management
• Epic EHR system used
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• No on-call responsibilities required
• No HUC or ED Tech on-site; physicians, registration, lab, and radiology staff are present

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with Emergency Department experience within the last 5 years preferred
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with Epic EHR required
• Proof of address document required for consideration (e.g., Driver's License, Voter Registration card, Federal Tax Return, Military Form No. 2058, or W2 from US government)
• Supervisory reference required for consideration
• Full SSN and date of birth (MM/DD) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications safely and serve as the point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments
• Provide emergency nursing care across the lifespan, including medical illness, trauma, pediatric, gerontologic, mental health, and life- and limb-saving interventions
• Collaborate with outside agencies such as EMS, law enforcement, crisis services, and transfer centers as part of care coordination
• A pass/fail EKG/dysrhythmia exam is required on the first day of assignment, with two attempts permitted; a study guide will be provided
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the travel pay rate; local candidates are not accepted
