American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Acute Care position at a rural, culturally rich healthcare facility in Northwestern Arizona, requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience and active PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications.

Details

• Day shift position, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM, 7 shifts per pay period (36 hours/week)
• 13-week contract
• Pediatric acute care unit within a JCAHO-accredited regional health center serving the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute communities across a 4,400 square-mile service area
• Facility serves as a referral center for the western Navajo and Hopi Reservations and offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services

Requirements

• Active RN license from any U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth currently required (AZ or compact license not required)
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all from the American Heart Association)
• NIHSS certification required
• P-CAR (Pediatric Trauma Care After Resuscitation) must be completed within 6 months of hire
• COVID-19 vaccination required (exemptions may be accepted with a completed declination form)
• Fingerprinting must be completed prior to start (conducted during the compliance process via mail)
• SSN required for consideration

• Provides professional nursing care to pediatric patients and their families, applying clinical judgment in accordance with physician orders, standards of care, and hospital policies
• Works independently to complete nursing assignments across a diverse patient population of all ages
• Facility is located in a very rural area of Northwestern Arizona on the Navajo Nation — candidates should plan accordingly
• Facility-provided shared housing may be available at $600/month; availability is not guaranteed and no family members or pets are permitted
• Housing application must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to start date
• Orientation runs on a biweekly schedule
• Flu vaccination status is considered; exemptions may be accepted with a completed declination form
