American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least 2 years of experience, night shift availability, and an active MD or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Common diagnoses include CHF, chest pain, cellulitis, osteomyelitis, pancreatitis, s/p amputations, small bowel obstruction, A-fib/dysrhythmias, cancer, and palliative care
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
• Performs EKGs and manages cardiac and vasoactive drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, and Lasix (non-titratable, within parameters)
• Equipment used includes telemetry monitors, monitor techs, IV pumps, O2, pulse oximeters, VS machines, SCDs, bed/chair alarms, chest tubes, and Foley catheters
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty and to lower acuity units as needed
• No on-call required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and CPI
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Experience managing cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring required
