American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring 2+ years of dedicated Cardiac ICU experience and proficiency in advanced cardiac therapy modalities including VV/VA ECMO, IABP, and Impella.

Details

• Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) setting in a hospital environment
• 24-bed unit with a 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratio; when floating to stepdown, ratio is 1:3
• Patient population includes post-op CABG, heart and lung transplant, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, post IR/PCI procedures, TEVAR, and lysis patients
• Advanced therapy modalities in use: VV/VA ECMO, IABP, TTM/Arctic Sun, Impella, CRRT, and PA Catheter Guided Therapy
• EMR: Epic
• Day/Night rotation, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• One major winter holiday required (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's), including the day before and day after; additional holiday coverage may be required as needed
• Primary float between CICU and CVICU; may also float to other ICUs, stepdown, progressive care, IMC, and telemetry units as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of recent, dedicated Cardiac ICU/CCU/CVICU experience required
• Must have worked in a dedicated CVICU or CICU setting
• Proficiency with VV/VA ECMO, IABP, TTM/Arctic Sun, Impella, CRRT, and PA Catheter Guided Therapy required
• Ability to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips
• Experience managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips

Additional Information

• Care for a complex cardiac patient population including post-surgical, transplant, shock, and advanced heart failure cases
• Floor orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Scrub requirement: Navy blue pants with solid navy blue or solid white tops; jackets must be solid navy blue or solid white
