American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Observation Unit position in Jacksonville, FL, requiring cardiac acuity experience and every other weekend availability.

Details

• Observation Unit (Obs Unit 002) within a hospital setting, working closely with the Emergency Department and hospitalist teams
• Cares for short-stay patients requiring rapid evaluation and monitoring prior to discharge or inpatient admission
• Higher cardiac acuity patient population, including management of titrating cardiac drips
• High patient turnover with strong clinical variety in a fast-paced environment
• Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA required)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential for short-stay patient management
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
• Copy of certifications and license verification/Nursys required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and observational nursing care including titrating cardiac drips and rapid patient assessment
• Close collaboration with ED and hospitalist teams is a key part of the daily workflow
• Local candidates are accepted, though a radius rule applies — candidates living within the facility's radius may be subject to a reduced pay rate
• COVID vaccination is not required for this position
