American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neurosciences (Neuro/Stroke) unit position in Oklahoma City, requiring a minimum of one year of RN experience and active OK or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Hospital-based Neurosciences unit serving stroke, neuro, orthopedic, and spine patients
• Designated comprehensive stroke center
• Patient ratios of 3:1 for step-down patients and 5:1 for all other patients
• 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• May be required to work in the virtual monitoring room
• Preceptorship responsibilities may be expected

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Stroke experience and NIHSS certification are both preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates must provide full date of birth for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessing and monitoring assigned patients, administering medications, initiating and regulating IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
• Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Engages patients and families in care planning throughout the hospital stay and at discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may work a maximum of 26 consecutive weeks (including one extension); a 6-month separation period is required before returning for another contract
• This facility has strict compliance deadlines — onboarding requirements including drug screens, background checks, and medical requirements must be initiated immediately upon acceptance of an offer
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
