American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology position requiring a VA or compact RN license and a minimum of 12 months of relevant oncology experience.

Details

• Outpatient clinic setting serving hematology and oncology patients, including autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplant and CAR-T patients
• Fast-paced clinic with rotation opportunities through multiple areas: infusion/day hospital, lab/port draw, clinic, and bone marrow biopsy suite
• Chemotherapy and biotherapy administration including investigational protocols
• Transfusion of blood products including platelets and fresh frozen plasma
• Port draw, phlebotomy, central line access, and central line care
• Procedural area responsibilities including bone marrow biopsy/aspiration with minimal analgesia and recovery
• Day shift: 4x9.5-hour shifts, 7:00–17:30
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 12 months of oncology experience required; inpatient oncology experience accepted
• Outpatient clinic experience only accepted if it is infusion clinic experience
• BLS certification required
• Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accreditation accepted); diploma, Associates, and BSN all accepted
• BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include management of chemotherapy/biotherapy toxicities and monitoring patients with neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, and electrolyte abnormalities including repletion
• Candidates must not have been employed by VCU Health within the previous 6 months
• This is a drug- and tobacco-free workplace; smoking is not permitted anywhere on campus
