American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Home Health position in the Detroit, MI area, requiring active MI licensure and a minimum of 2 years of home health nursing experience.

Details

• Home health setting serving patients across Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties
• Anticipated caseload of approximately 6 patient visits per day
• Average of 40–60 miles driven per day across the service area
• Day shift schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with one Saturday per month
• 40 hours per week, 8-hour days
• 17-week contract with strong potential to convert based on performance
• Floating to a nearby sister facility may be required

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of 2 years of home health RN experience required
• Acute care experience preferred
• Graduation from an NLN-accredited registered nursing program required
• Valid State of Michigan driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required
• Reliable personal transportation and a telephone required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Ability to lift, carry, transport, and move patients as needed
• COVID-19 vaccination required for employment

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care in the home under general supervision of a nursing supervisor
• Assesses patient needs for allied health services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, nutrition, speech pathology, and social work to support an integrated care delivery model
• Orientation is 2–4 weeks depending on individual acuity, conducted both onsite and in the field with a preceptor
• Online modules must be completed and passed prior to start date, typically completed onsite one week before the start date
• No blocked scheduling
• Any RTO requests made after an offer is extended will need to be discussed with management once the assignment begins
