American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring cardiac, thoracic, and vascular scrub/circulate experience at a Level I trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a short-term acute care teaching hospital
• Primarily cardiac and thoracic surgical cases
• Also performs vascular procedures including open and endovascular repairs
• Transplant cases include liver, kidney, and pancreas procedures, along with pancreatic Whipple procedures
• Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts, 6:15 PM to 6:45 AM
• Rotating shift start times as needed
• No on-call requirement for night shift
• Requires 3-4 weekday and 1-2 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule as determined by unit needs
• Holiday coverage required as needed and discussed in advance
• Required to float within service line to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required; 1 year considered for candidates from a Level I trauma facility
• Level I trauma facility experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Scrub and circulate experience for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery required
• Scrub experience in transplant surgery required
• BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted only if candidate has more than 2 years of experience in a Level I trauma facility

Additional Information

• Perform scrub and circulate duties for complex cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and transplant surgical procedures
• Navy scrub color required
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Additional RTO requests after submission, offer, or start are not permitted
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period, followed by a required 3-month break in service
• Permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Contract length is firm at 13 weeks
• Facial hair must accommodate proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved
