American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Center position requiring 5+ years of experience, at least one prior travel assignment, and MEDITECH proficiency.

Details

• Evening shift, 12-hour shifts running 1:00 PM – 1:00 AM
• 17-week contract
• Acute care Emergency Center setting serving patients from pediatrics to geriatrics
• High-volume department with approximately 180–200 visits per day
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4
• Includes a 6-bed behavioral health lockdown area staffed by psychiatry, with safety sitters available
• Vent patients are held in the ED until admitted; 24/7 respiratory therapy dedicated to the ED
• Facility is a CVA center; trauma, neuro, and ortho cases are seen, with some transferred out; no burns kept
• Supported by 5–6 nurse aides/paramedics per shift, central monitoring techs, security, and patient sitters
• In-department pharmacy coverage 11 hours per day with 24/7 on-campus pharmacy availability
• Multiple ED physicians and NP/PA providers on overlapping shifts throughout the day and night
• Nurses perform their own lab draws and IV starts
• Charting system: MEDITECH 6.15 (experience required)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS (or ASLS), and CPI
• MEDITECH experience required
• Driver's license must be provided for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement
• Candidates who have been employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Orientation consists of 2 shifts and must be completed during the first week of the assignment
• Caribbean Blue scrubs required
• Time-off requests are honored only if submitted and approved prior to the start of the assignment
• Attendance policy is strictly enforced; repeated call-outs or tardiness may result in termination of assignment
