American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology Chemo Certified RN for an outpatient infusion clinic position requiring at least 1 year of specialty experience and ONS/ONCC Chemo certification.

Details

• Outpatient oncology infusion clinic setting
• Provides care for all oncology diagnoses, GI/GU diagnoses requiring infusion, OB fluids/nausea/vomiting regimens, research protocols, migraine protocols, and antibiotic infusions
• Performs BCG treatments, cystoscopies, and intrathecal chemotherapy administration
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to affiliate hospitals nearby
• Open to accommodating block scheduling
• Uses Epic (Excellian) EMR

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in oncology infusion specialty required
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, central line care, and PICC line care
• Experience administering chemotherapy via IV push, oral, and continuous infusion methods
• Ability to recognize and manage oncologic emergencies including anaphylaxis, sepsis, and extravasation injury
• Experience with biotherapy administration including interferons and interleukins
• Knowledge of chemotherapy-related body fluid handling and cytotoxic spill management
• 1 supervisor reference required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver comprehensive oncology infusion care across a wide range of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and blood-related cancers
• Manage symptom care for nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, constipation/diarrhea, and altered mental status
• Coordinate care and provide patient/family education throughout treatment
• Administer a variety of medications including antibiotics, antiemetics, corticosteroids, and hormonal therapies
• Navy scrub color required

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Returning travelers must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift as perm staff or per diem
• RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days during the assignment
• Pending MN license accepted at time of offer
