American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Rochester, NY, requiring NY licensure, Epic proficiency, and phlebotomy/IV placement competency.

Details

• 14-bed overflow Med/Surg Tele unit operating within a GI Endoscopy flex space to accommodate ED boarder patients
• Patient census fluctuates based on ED boarder volume and demand
• Telemetry monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required
• Floating is required for this position
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required — pending licensure is not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele RN experience required
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
• Experience with peripheral line care/management and nasal cannula use
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
• Navy blue or white scrubs required
• The facility will try to accommodate block scheduling but it is not guaranteed
• Minimal time-off (RTO) requests are preferred for this assignment
• All scheduling and time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• PICC team serves as the IV team, but RNs are expected to be independently competent in peripheral IV placement
