American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position at a large academic teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience with high competency in cardiovascular/open heart surgery and mandatory Epic proficiency.

Details

• Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) within a large academic teaching hospital setting
• 12-hour rotating day/evening shifts (0645–1915)
• One to two 12-hour weekday call shifts per week (1900–0715), frequency may increase when short-staffed
• One full weekend of call required every 5 weeks
• Floating to other OR suites (General, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, etc.) may be required; circulating only when floated, scrubbing not required
• Monday through Sunday work week with no block scheduling
• Epic EMR required; experience must be within the past 2 years

Requirements

• Active VT or Compact RN license required; NY license accepted with proof of pending application
• BLS required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience with recent, high-competency cardiovascular/open heart OR experience required
• Must be proficient in scrubbing hearts — this is a non-negotiable requirement
• General OR experience required
• Large academic teaching hospital experience required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required and non-negotiable
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required — at least one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidate must scrub cardiovascular/open heart cases; this is the primary function of the role
• Must be flexible with scheduling to meet unit and patient care needs
• Bi-weekly orientations held on Mondays
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
• Public transportation is not accessible in this area; reliable personal or rental transportation is strongly recommended
• Candidates with a VT license are not required to have it in hand at time of consideration, but must apply within 24 hours of accepting the position
