Description

American Traveler is seeking a BSN-prepared RN for a 13-week LTC/SNF travel assignment in a geriatric behavioral health facility in South Dakota, with geripsych experience preferred.

Details

• Long-term care/skilled nursing facility (LTC/SNF) setting with 55 beds
• Geriatric patient population including dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia as part of an active behavioral health program
• Day shift, 12-hour block scheduling (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
• Patient ratio is approximately 1:23 on day shift and 1:45 overnight; a medication aide is present from 6 AM–10 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Holiday coverage required if holidays fall within your scheduled contract block
• EMR: PointClickCare (PCC)
• No on-call or call-back responsibilities

Requirements

• Active SD RN license or compact RN license, must be active and in hand at time of consideration — pending licenses are not accepted
• BSN required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required — copies of active certifications required; pending certifications are not accepted
• PointClickCare (PCC) experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Geriatric psychiatric LTC facility — experience in geri psych or LTC psych is strongly preferred
• Orientation includes a facility tour, competency review, and the opportunity to shadow 1–2 shifts
• Most skilled and COVID-related charting is completed on the day shift
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and are eligible at an adjusted rate
• If facility-provided housing is used, local pay rates will apply
