American Traveler is hiring a BSN-prepared RN for a 13-week LTC/SNF night shift contract at a geriatric behavioral health facility, with experience in geriatric or LTC psych preferred.

Details

• Long-term care/skilled nursing facility (LTC/SNF) setting with 55 beds
• Geriatric patient population including dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia — facility operates a dedicated behavioral health program
• Night shift schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM on 12-hour block scheduling
• Overnight nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:45; a medication aide is available from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required when holidays fall within your block schedule
• EMR: PointClickCare (PCC)
• No on-call or call-back responsibilities

Requirements

• Active South Dakota RN license or Compact RN license, must be active at time of consideration — pending licensure not accepted
• BSN required
• Current BLS certification required; copies of active certifications required — pending certifications not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; no exceptions
• Geriatric psych or LTC psych experience preferred
• Driver's license required
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Orientation includes a facility tour, competency assessments, and the opportunity to shadow 1–2 shifts
• Most skilled and COVID-related charting is completed on the day shift; overnight responsibilities are primarily patient monitoring and care
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be eligible at a adjusted pay rate
