American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Telemetry (Night Shift) position at a Level 1 Trauma acute care hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent experience and the ability to pass a Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to offer confirmation.

• Acute care hospital setting, Level 1 Trauma center
• D4 Neuro Telemetry unit with 28 beds
• Patient population includes neuro post-surgical, post-craniotomy, spine, and CVA/post-TPA patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4; PCTs available at a ratio of 1 per 16 patients
• Centralized telemetry monitoring; RNs must be able to interpret EKGs
• Charting performed in Cerner
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a
• Every other weekend required
• Travelers are first to float and may float to a sister facility
• No ICP monitoring performed on this unit
• Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24/7
• Hospitalist rounds during the day and is on call at night
• No ventilator management required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required, with clinical activity within the past 6 months
• Telemetry experience required, including EKG interpretation
• Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) within 48 hours of receiving an offer; maximum of 2 attempts allowed
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (permanent address as listed on driver's license is used to determine eligibility)

Additional Information

• Navy scrubs required
• 2-day floor-specific orientation provided
• A Pass/Fail sterile technique exam is administered on the first day of orientation, covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes; study materials are provided in advance
• COVID vaccination required, or a completed religious or medical declination form with appropriate documentation
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
• Candidates who fail the Relias Dysrhythmia exam or the sterile technique test on the second attempt are ineligible for CommonSpirit Arizona positions for 6 months
