Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position at a children's hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience and an active WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 70-bed Level IV NICU (2nd highest-level NICU in the state) within a 152-bed children's hospital, with typical census around 50 patients
• Patient population includes premature infants down to 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS; preferred experience with surgical patients and HIE (Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy)
• Private rooms in the NICU; Level II Nursery overflow for feeders/growers
• The NICU is part of a pediatric hospital attached to an adult hospital with high-risk labor and delivery
• Day shift: 0700–1930; Night shift: 1900–0730 (12-hour rotating shifts)
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required, with occasional back-to-back weekends
• Rare float to the ER as a sitter
• No on-call responsibilities
• EMR: Epic
• Block scheduling is possible

Requirements

• Active WA state RN license or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of Level III or IV NICU experience required
• Proficiency with respiratory support and ventilators is required; trach experience is highly preferred
• Additional required skills: G-tubes, NG/OG tubes, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, medication administration, care planning, and discharge-to-home coordination
• Epic EMR experience
• At least one supervisor-level reference (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above) required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to start
