American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neurosciences (Neuro/Stroke) unit position working night shifts at a comprehensive stroke center in Oklahoma City, OK.

Details

• Inpatient neurosciences unit at a comprehensive stroke center
• Patient population includes stroke, neurology, orthopedic, and spine patients
• Patient ratios are 3:1 for step-down patients and 5:1 for all other patients
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week (48 hours/week)
• May be required to work in a virtual monitoring room
• Precepting responsibilities may be required
• Stroke experience and NIHSS certification are both preferred

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA certifications only accepted
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing assigned patient groups, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to interventions
• Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, including at time of discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before being eligible for a new contract
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be completed promptly after acceptance — the facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and will not negotiate start dates
