American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring an OH or compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent PCU experience.

Details

• PCU unit with 22 beds (16 rooms) and an average daily census of 20
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Common cases include burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries
• Special procedures include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (3x12)
• Every other or every third weekend required
• Floating within OSU required
• EPIC used for documentation
• Pyxis used for medication administration

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU experience required
• Experience with similar patient population preferred
• Previous charge RN experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role, with the second acceptable from a charge RN (no coworker references accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for adult and geriatric PCU patients requiring step-down level monitoring and intervention
• Skills utilized may include IV therapy, central and PICC line management, blood product administration, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, wound care/wound vac, and insulin drip titration
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing their contract due to strict compliance timelines
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of consideration, limited to 7 days or less
