American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Medicine Specialty unit position requiring Med/Surg and Stepdown experience and at least one year of travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Medicine Specialty Unit of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule of 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week (48 hours per week)
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact/eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Prior Med/Surg and Stepdown unit experience required
• 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Level 1 trauma center experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document nursing interventions and treatment responses
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Returning travelers are limited to one extension for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
• Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts once booked
