Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Wound Ostomy Care Nurse for an inpatient acute care setting, requiring CWON/CWOCN certification and at least 2 years of wound/ostomy experience.

Details

• Surgery Nursing Administration unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Provides wound and ostomy care to inpatients with surgical and traumatic wounds
• Performs patient teaching in an inpatient, acute care environment
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• No weekend shifts required
• No call responsibilities
• No holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
• BLS certification required
• Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing (WOCN) certification required, specifically CWON or CWOCN
• Minimum 2 years of current wound care and ostomy nursing experience required
• Ostomy care experience required
• Skilled in assessment, treatment, and management of complex surgical and traumatic wounds
• Experience with wound vacs and wound vac dressing changes
• Ability to accurately assess, measure, and classify wounds and related skin conditions
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred (1-2 assignments)
• Experience at a comparable facility size required, including 500+ bed facility experience

• Conducts patient education related to wound and ostomy care in an inpatient setting
