American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Acute Dialysis with a NY license, EPIC experience, and at least 1 year of dialysis experience for a 13-week assignment.

Details

• Acute inpatient and chronic outpatient dialysis unit setting
• Cares for patients with acute renal failure requiring hemodialysis
• Day shift schedule Monday through Friday, 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM, using a combination of 4x10s or 2x12s and 2x8s
• Rotating Saturday shifts from 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM, either 8 or 12 hours depending on department need
• Possible on-call responsibilities Monday through Friday 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and weekends Saturday 6:00 PM to Monday 6:00 AM
• Floating required to all other Dialysis locations
• EPIC charting experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of dialysis experience required
• Acute and outpatient dialysis experience preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Skilled in dialysis treatment initiation, setup, and monitoring
• Proficient in AV graft and AV fistula cannulation
• Experience with tunneled and non-tunneled catheter care
• Familiar with dialysis equipment including Baxter, Fresenius J/K, Gambro, and Prismaflex
• Able to troubleshoot machine alarms and manage treatment complications
• Skilled in administration of blood and blood products
• Knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Ability to manage dialysis-related emergencies such as air emboli, cardiac arrest, and hyperkalemia

Additional Information

• Responsible for initiating, monitoring, and terminating dialysis treatments
• Performs post-treatment access care and sterilization procedures
• Manages potential complications including fluid overload, hypotension, and disequilibrium syndrome
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted, though those living within 75 miles of the facility will be offered a lower pay rate
• Candidates must have no more than 10 days of requested RTO to be considered
• Previous employees may be considered if it has been at least 6 months since their last assignment within the health system
• Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment
