Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 12-week Intermediate Care Unit day-shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of tele/cardiac PCU experience and IL RN licensure.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 158 staffed beds
• Intermediate Care Unit (Telemetry) department
• Cardiac telemetry patient population including post-MI and pre/post cardiac cath cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• On-call responsibilities required
• Floating within scope of practice and service line required to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (IL required, license in hand at time of submittal)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience required, cardiac PCU experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with CVA and neurological/psychiatric patient populations preferred

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response for telemetry patients
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias for cardiac and post-MI patients
• Support pre/post cardiac catheterization patient care
• Navy scrub color required
• No parking costs at this facility
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• No more than 7 days of RTO allowed per contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Returning permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within this health system as a traveler
• Standard travelers may work up to 18 months before requiring a 3-month break in service
