American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and an active FL or compact RN license.

• >Works in the Telemetry unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend (EOW) rotation required
• Holiday coverage required if needed
• Float to other Telemetry floors as needed
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 3 years recent Telemetry experience required
• 2-3 years Level 1 Trauma experience required
• 2 years recent consecutive acute care experience within a US hospital within the past 24 months if degree is from an FBON-approved institution
• Degree from an accredited nursing school required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with O2 protocol management and non-invasive airway management
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration)
• Experience with peripheral and central line care/management
• Experience with blood product administration
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE use
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must pass Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care to cardiovascular and post-cardiac intervention patients
• Work in a smoke-free facility environment
• Must complete Basic Arrhythmia assessment with passing score prior to starting first shift
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are considered at a lower pay rate
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a travel nurse
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
