American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring high-risk L&D experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
• Covers antepartum, labor and delivery, lactation, and postpartum patient needs
• Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Requires working every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation
• 13-week assignment length
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

Requirements

• Active IL RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• High-risk labor and delivery experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with education verification required
• COVID-19 vaccination required

Additional Information

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques and standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy
• Provide patient and family education as part of the care plan
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments supporting the patient's longitudinal plan of care
• Apply critical thinking to patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command
