American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN with 2+ years of experience for a day shift position requiring BLS, PALS, and Epic proficiency.

• >Work in the Pediatrics unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes respiratory, GI, neurology, pre/post-surgical, and endocrine diagnoses
• Average daily census of 12 with 19 rooms/beds
• Staffing ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Floating required to NICU or other units within skill set
• Orientation provided
• Any color scrubs permitted

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with pediatric dosage calculations, IV therapy, and medication administration required
• Skills in neurologic, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and endocrine/metabolic pediatric care required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across a range of pediatric diagnoses including respiratory, GI, neurology, and endocrine conditions
• Perform skills such as IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, NG tube management, and wound care
• Assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures and manage conditions like seizure disorders and VP shunts
• Utilize Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS) and participate in Rapid Response Team protocols
• Floating required to other units within skill set, including NICU
• First-time travelers accepted if they meet the experience requirements
• Minimal RTO accepted, with holiday time off not approved
• Former Providence permanent employees must be separated for at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
